One of the surprising things about Qigong, according to Sifu Scott Jensen, is that real progress is actually achievable.

Like any skill, Qigong may feel difficult at first. There is a learning curve. You may struggle a little in the beginning. But once you begin to understand what the Qigong skills are and how to use them, the practice becomes much easier — and much more alive.

In this short teaching, Sifu Jensen uses a simple analogy: building Qi is like building financial wealth.

If you want to build wealth, you first build your principal. You save. You do not spend everything as soon as you have it. Once you have built a strong enough foundation, that principal begins to generate interest — and then you can use the interest without depleting the source.

Qigong works in a similar way.

Through practice, you learn to open and sense your Qi, guide your Qi, and concentrate it in the center of your body.

That energy can support your Qigong, Tai Chi, Kung Fu, hands-on healing, massage, meditation, and deeper spiritual practice.
