This lesson covers an advanced and strenuous exercise from the Yijinjing Qigong system called “Swallow Skims the Water.” Sifu Jensen guides you through the movements which involve deep stances, hip rotations, and arm extensions. He emphasizes the importance of proper foot turning to protect the knees and open the hips.

The exercise begins in a horse stance, then transitions into alternating “bow and arrow” stances by pivoting the feet and shifting the weight to each side. Arms reach out with bent elbows to open the shoulders and body. Hip circles are integrated to stretch the joints.

Throughout, Sifu Jensen offers modifications for different flexibility levels, stressing that consistency will increase range of motion over time. The flowing movements combined with focused breathing are designed to build strength, flexibility and Qi cultivation. Though challenging, this qigong form provides full-body training.
