First Two Steps of Feng Shui and the Art of Catching Luck

How do you Catch Luck?

Luck is a magical level of Qi that circulates in and around us.

But, we need to catch it to absorb it and then when the moment of opportunity arises and we are otherwise prepared your luck will help you.

Your home, whether smaller or grander, is the best place to absorb and cultivate your luck. The place you spend the most time. Your nest where you sleep is the most important. Followed by your kitchen and then where you live. Make these primary locations in your life as nice as possible and as best suited for you to be healthy, absorb and create healthy qi and build your luck.

Making our homes and living spaces, and if we can, our workplaces, safe, wonderful, beautiful, and supportive in every way, is a fantastic gift to give yourself. Making your home both safe and a superior energy recharging and generating station designed to power  you up is the goal of Feng Shui.

The end result is seen in the luck in your life.

Get it right and your life becomes filled with good luck and bad luck is tempered or avoided.

This is art, and everyone of us is the artist creating the setting and frame of our lives. Create your home to be a place that helps you become the person you want to be.

One way to tune into this idea of the Qi of Luck is like water or air circulating. We can’t drink stagnant water safely. we can’t breathe stagnant air for long. Both water and air need to circulate to remain fresh and viable. Can the Qi circulate in your home? Thinking of a deep pool where large fish might live and a beautiful forest meadow full of life imagine how the air and water both move, but not too swiftly, and collect without becoming stagnant or motionless. This balance of peaceful movement and clarity energizes and heals. Creating this condition of peaceful movement of positive energy where you live so you are constantly surrounded by it and nourished by it is our goal.

The First Two Steps of Feng Shui and the Art of Catching Luck are:

  1. Tidy – If there is stuff piled everywhere we can all safely bet the energy isn’t moving and this is one of those “stagnant areas”. If you are surround by piles of half completed tasks, you are constantly experiencing the Zegarnik effect! Cancel or complete that stuff and be decisive. Get rid of everything you don’t need or use that you don’t love. There are somethings that should be stored for emergencies. This prudent and provides safety and security. However, that clutter pile here and there. Those are the spots the lucky Qi can’t circulate and you can’t absorb it. The closets that are overfull and never move. Perhaps even whole rooms or garages or sheds or if you are lucky to have one your backyard can become cluttered. Sometimes small spaces make it hard to imagine not being cluttered. The issue is not truly the quantity of items or air circulation, but rather the utility, usefulness, and functionality of a space and its contents to you.
  2.  Clean – Not clean is friction. Throw sand in a motor and watch it grind to halt. Air full of pollution, smoke, and particles isn’t healthy. No one wants to drink turbid, cloudy, dirty water. After the tidy step you can’t stop. Do the clean part and get that sparkly, bright, shiny luck added to your life!

There is no better time than right now to tidy and clean. Pretty exciting eh? Well, Okay, it doesn’t seem exciting, but neither does plowing the field in the spring. But if you don’t plow, fertilize, and plant in the spring their will be no harvest celebration in the fall. Go for it today and feel better tonight. Then feel the benefits grow all year long. We are home more than ever right now. Why not make your home the coziest and most empowering place it can be now?
