The separation and aftermath of COVID had kept me from visiting my family in Taiwan for far too long. So when my loving older brother, Johnson, decided to come to the United States to see me, I was overjoyed. He generously arranged an 11-day American bus tour, taking me and our niece through 8 of the country’s most breathtaking national parks – from the majestic Grand Canyon to the otherworldly Antelope Canyon, Monument Valley, Arches, Bryce Canyon, Zion, the serene Grand Tetons, and the awe-inspiring Yellowstone. Together, we witnessed the raw beauty and grandeur of our planet.

Grand Canyon was the 1st National Park we visited. Climbing up this big rock and trying to balance in Crane Stance is not as easy as when practicing on the wooden floor in class 😉
Traversing from the Grand Canyon to the towering Tetons, we covered an incredible amount of ground. Hiking trails, we were left awestruck by nature’s splendor – the vibrant hoodoos of Bryce Canyon, the otherworldly arches of Arches, the steaming geysers of Yellowstone. Though each park offered unique wonders, my heart was most full during the moments shared with my brother and niece.
There’s something profoundly nourishing about reconnecting with loved ones, especially after a long separation. As we explored these natural wonders together, I was reminded of the immense value of family, and the way shared experiences can deepen our bonds. This trip didn’t just introduce me to the grandeur of America’s public lands. It reaffirmed the warmth and comfort that comes from quality time with those closest to us.
I hope everyone has the chance to rediscover that kind of connection, that sense of being truly seen and supported by the people who matter most. It’s a feeling I wish for all.
This set of pictures are from the Grand Canyon. Next week I will be sharing more pictures from our trip!!
