Everyone practiced practical Tai Chi Push Hands. The sun was shining and the birds were singing while we studied how to do a practical ward off, roll back, push, and press with single hand pushing. It was simply an incredibly beautiful morning outside as we played Tai Chi.

Practicing the single hand pushing with advancing and retreating steps everyone also learned to apply “Brush Knee, Push Hand” with an integrated ankle/knee lock and a variation of “Cloud Hands” also with an ankle/knee lock. And of course, how to escape with a single quick step and good timing.

Everyone then learned the hidden joint locks and the practical strikes techniques hidden in the standard double hand pushing drill with “Ward Off”, “Roll Back”, “Press”, and “Push” linked in a loop. This is a great way to gain some very practical defense skills quickly and understand the sharp claws hidden within the smooth circles of push hands.

Everyone had a chance to practice multiple drills with everyone else present and get experience with body types and skill levels. It was fun!

We had a great time! Hope to see you at the next one!
